Heirlooms

  • Jewelry's small size and metallic makeup make easy to stick around... Trinkets like this one (a filigree cocktail ring which had been in my family for generations) are easy to pass down.
  • Jewelry can and bridge family members who have never met together, make you feel like you have roots, all while retaining stories of the past.... yet it remains timeless
  • Of course the sentimental value on these items become priceless and loosing such an item can be devastating... (my ring above was stolen from my apartment in Virginia last december)
  • But this thought... of passing along was first got me into jewelry... I had spent hours in my grandmothers closet playing dress up while hearing her stories... and each time she gave me a piece they would instantly become the most special things to me.
  • I collect because I appreciate the beauty in design... but also because I want to remember and be remembered.

My Favorite Things

  • It's about time I document and share my obsession with jewelry.
  • Since I was tiny I have been awe struck by the sparkly pieces of sculpture that have define fashion trends and symbolize emotional milestones and commitments for centuries.
